For our Artists Collaborate project we did a stop motion animation. I worked with Shelby, Kristen, and Nate to create this art. While working on the project everybody had the job of making characters and props out of play-doh, and Shelby was in charge of taking a picture of each frame, as well as adding sound. We all collaborated by pitching in different ideas and using everyone's creativity together to put together the motion picture.
I Solve Problems:
Throughout the entire arting process, many problems arose regarding how to get characters to move certain ways, or what to add to the story next. If I made a character out of playdoh and it was the exact opposite of what I wanted, I didn't get discouraged. I stepped back and thought about it in more depth, then tackled it again to get it right. Obstacles are quite prevalent in art, but as an artist you can't let them affect your art. You have to stick to your creative mind, overcome them, and make what you set out to make.
I Create Original Art:
Granted this art wasn't all mine, it was a total group effort, but everyone pitched in creative, original ideas. It started out with a story board going along with a diver, but using spongebob as our inspiration we conbined our little diver boy with the world of Spongebob! We kept the Spongebob theme alive with jellyfish, his pineapple, and then a surprise camio from Doodle Bob. We went back to originality by finishing the motion picture with Doodle Bob destroying a lot and laughing evilly off camera. The combination of our story line and the inspiration of Spongebob makes this piece "original art".
